Finance Minister Yassin Jaber has condemned Israel's continued assaults on the South and Nabatieh, which result in casualties of innocent civilians daily, causing more tragedies. Among the targets was the Ministry of Finance building in Nabatieh early Sunday morning. Jaber stated that targeting facilities and institutions serving citizens is an attack on the state and its institutions, as well as on citizens' rights to access services. He assured that all regional finance department employees in Nabatieh are safe.
He added: "Thankfully, the attack occurred early Sunday morning when no employees were present in the building. He highlighted the immediate response of the employees, who took responsibility and showed initiative by transferring, organizing, and securing documents in a safer place to ensure their safety and guarantee continuity of work.
The Finance Minister also reassured citizens and taxpayers that their files are preserved and that transactions will continue uninterrupted. He noted that thanks to the employees' efforts and commitment, transactions for taxpayers affiliated with the regional finance department in Nabatieh will be temporarily handled at the regional finance office in Sidon, starting Monday morning, until operations resume at the Nabatieh office.
