The popular vacation rental platform Airbnb has launched a new scheme called "Live Anywhere," which gives certain individuals the chance to stay with three friends or acquaintances for a full year in any location around the world. Those selected for the program will be able to live anywhere they choose, as long as they stay in properties listed on the Airbnb platform. The company will cover the accommodation costs and provide transportation allowances.
This means you can apply for this opportunity if you work remotely and need a new workspace, whether in a new city or by the beach. Twelve participants will be chosen by a special committee in July, and each will be allowed to bring up to three companions for this adventure.
Of course, this opportunity will not be free of charge, as selected individuals will be asked to share some feedback over the year. The idea is that participants can provide insights on living in rented homes, check on useful amenities and services, identify the ideal types of accommodations for solo travelers or families, and engage with the local community.
This program comes after a report from Airbnb which found an increase in stays of 28 days or more in listed homes, with 74% of surveyed consumers in five countries expressing interest in living somewhere other than their employer's location after the pandemic, according to the Mirror newspaper.
