A video has surfaced showing terrifying footage of a cable car falling in the Italian Alps, resulting in the deaths of 14 people onboard, including an Israeli family of five. The video shows the cabin violently shaking after the cables snapped as it reached its destination station, before it was thrown backward away from a tower at the station and then plummeted down the cables, crashing violently. Italian media estimated that the cabin rebounded backward at a speed of 60 miles per hour before it fell and shattered. Another image from the Italian police showed the wreckage of the cable car near the summit of the Stresa-Mottarone line in the Piedmont region of Northern Italy. Eitan Biran, a 5-year-old boy, was the sole survivor of the tragedy near Lake Maggiore on May 23, while his entire family was killed; he is still experiencing memory loss due to the trauma. Italian authorities have arrested three men linked to the company that operates the cable, Ferrovi Mottarone, as it is believed that the emergency brakes had been disabled.
