Militant Killed in Foiled Attempt to Blow Up Electricity Towers in Diyala

The Security Media Cell announced today, Wednesday, the killing of one of the militants while attempting to detonate two electricity towers in Diyala province. The cell stated in a statement sent to Alsumaria News that "following the consecutive defeats of ISIS terrorist elements, these groups are attempting to damage electricity towers, but the vigilance of the security forces, field efforts, and intelligence work have enabled the security agencies to thwart several attempts to target electricity towers." It added that "the security forces managed to kill one militant after successfully ambushing him while he was trying to plant explosives to blow up two electricity towers in the Al-Kifah area, north of the Muqdadiyah district in Diyala province."
