Tunisia Assures Turkey, the European Union, and the United Nations After President Freezes Parliament

The Tunisian Foreign Ministry stated on Tuesday that the Foreign Minister contacted his counterparts in Turkey, France, Italy, Germany, the European Union, and the High Commissioner for Human Rights to reassure them after the president froze the parliament and dismissed the government, stating that Tunisia intends to continue on the democratic path. The statement added that the minister explained that the exceptional measures are temporary, and his counterparts pledged to continue supporting the emerging democracy.
