Egypt's "Golden" Long Hand in Africa

The Egyptian national team won the African Handball Championship title by defeating the Cape Verde team in the final match held on Monday. The "Pharaohs" outperformed Cape Verde with a significant margin of 12 goals, ending the match with a score of 37-25. With this victory, Egypt secured the gold medals for the second consecutive time in the tournament and the eighth in its history, while Cape Verde made a major surprise by claiming the silver medals.

Morocco won the bronze medal after defeating Tunisia 28-24 in the third-place playoff match, also held earlier on Monday. Egypt, Cape Verde, Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria qualified for the World Handball Championship, set to take place in Poland and Sweden from January 11 to 29, 2023.

Egypt will compete in Group 7 at the World Championship alongside Croatia, the USA, and Morocco. Cape Verde has been placed in Group 3, which also includes Sweden, Brazil, and Uruguay. Morocco will also play in Group 7 with the African champion, Croatia, and the USA. Meanwhile, Tunisia is in Group 8 along with Denmark, Belgium, and Bahrain. Algeria, the fifth African nation, will participate in Group 5 with Germany, Qatar, and Serbia.
