Diab extended his condolences to President Al-Kadhimi, the Iraqi government, and the brotherly Iraqi people over the victims, wishing a swift recovery for the injured. Meanwhile, the Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri also made a phone call to Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, condemning, on his behalf, the parliamentary council, and the Lebanese people, the “double terrorist explosion that targeted civilians in the Iraqi capital Baghdad,” offering condolences to the victims and wishing a swift recovery for the injured. Additionally, President Berri called the representative of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Sistani in Lebanon, Haj Hamid Al-Khafaaf, condemning the “heinous terrorist crime” and expressing condolences for the martyrs while wishing a quick recovery for the wounded. At least 32 civilians were killed, and more than 110 others were injured in suicide bombings involving explosive belts at a used clothing market in Tayaran Square in central Baghdad.
