Pompeo: Biden's Revival of the Failed Nuclear Deal Strengthens Khamenei's Regime

Former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo asserted that the Biden administration's revival of the Iranian nuclear deal enhances the "killer" Khamenei regime, as he described it. He wrote in a tweet, "The news coming from Vienna is very concerning, as the Biden team is getting closer to reviving the failed Iranian deal." He added, "Initially, Biden restored the Taliban, and now he is empowering the killer Khamenei regime." The U.S. National Security Council announced earlier on Tuesday that Tehran had made concessions in sensitive matters. However, a senior U.S. official confirmed that the possibility of reaching a new nuclear agreement remains unclear at this time. The official, who requested anonymity due to the sensitivity of the issue, stated that some gaps still exist between Washington and Tehran. However, they clarified that Iran has abandoned some key conditions for reviving the nuclear agreement, such as relinquishing the demand to end the International Atomic Energy Agency's investigations.
