Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced that the country has developed an antibody for the novel coronavirus, which he described as a miracle.
Maduro stated that "ten drops under the tongue, and then the miracle happens," noting that it eliminates the coronavirus by 100% when used every four hours. He indicated that he has received the official health authorization for the country, confirming that the drug Carvativir neutralizes the coronavirus 100%. He explained that this treatment is the result of nine months of clinical, scientific, and biological studies, which included trials on patients with moderate and severe cases, showing that they fully recovered from the virus thanks to these drops.
Maduro mentioned that all information related to this product will be published globally in journals, emphasizing that Carvativir is completely harmless since it has no side effects or negative impacts as indicated by the extensive trials conducted on it.
He confirmed that mass production of the drug will begin this week, with plans for the government to establish a direct distribution system in all hospitals and health centers nationwide, adding that the state plans to export thousands of doses of Carvativir to neighboring countries.
Maduro also indicated that his vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, will provide all the information to the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, "so that he can know about this powerful antiviral and approve it."
It is worth noting that the World Health Organization has not issued any statement regarding this drug so far. Venezuela has reported 124,000 cases of the coronavirus, while 1,148 people have died from the disease.
