Arab Foreign Ministers in Baabda... Arab League Secretary-General: We Support Lebanon

The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, confirmed in a statement following his meeting with the Arab foreign ministers and President Michel Aoun in Baabda that they stand by Lebanon, the Lebanese government, and the people. He stated, "We listened to President Aoun's speech, in which he explained the Lebanese position and situation and the country's need for support," wishing well for the country. He continued, "The foreign ministers were keen to express their gratitude and appreciation to President Aoun for being present at the presidential palace to show their support for Lebanon and stand by it." Aboul Gheit arrived in Beirut yesterday to participate in the consultative meeting of the Council of Arab Foreign Ministers scheduled to be held today in Beirut.
