Al Nassr Saudi Club has officially announced its contract with French coach Rudi Garcia to take over the team's training for the upcoming season. In the official statement published by Al Nassr through its official account on the social media platform Twitter, the signing of the experienced French coach Rudi Garcia was confirmed.
The statement read: "The Chairman of Al Nassr Club, Mr. Musalli Al Muammar, has signed a contract with French coach Rudi Garcia to coach the first football team, wishing him success with the global team." The official account of Al Nassr also shared a video welcoming their new coach in French, titled "Al Nassr is ambition."
Previously, Al Nassr announced on Tuesday evening their gratitude to the former coach Miguel Russo, following the end of the 2021-2022 Saudi league season, where the global team finished in third place, behind champions Al Hilal and runners-up Al Ittihad.
Coach Rudi Garcia has previously achieved success in European leagues, winning the French league title with Lille in the 2010-2011 season, along with the cup title. He coached Roma for three years and later enjoyed success with Marseille, reaching the Europa League final in the 2017-2018 season. He also led Lyon to a historic achievement in the UEFA Champions League, reaching the semifinals by defeating Manchester City and coach Pep Guardiola.
