The media office of the Government of Dubai announced that Emirates SkyCargo, Dubai Airports, and DP World will assist in the "fair distribution" of two billion doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
The media office, quoting Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, CEO of Emirates and Chairman of Dubai Airports, stated that the three companies have formed a "logistics" alliance to accelerate the global distribution of urgently needed COVID-19 vaccines through Dubai. The UAE has launched this new global initiative, leveraging the expertise and capabilities of Emirates, the DP World network, Dubai Airports, and the International Humanitarian City to transport, store, and expedite the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines worldwide, with a particular focus on developing countries, whose populations have been severely affected by the pandemic and face challenges in transporting and distributing medical supplies.
