Concerns Over the Continuation of the Caretaker Government

As the dollar continues its upward trend and the prices of food and fuel burn the pockets of citizens, the anticipated parliamentary session for electing the Speaker of the House, deputy, and the council's executive bureau and committees remains pending. Meanwhile, the Lebanese are hanging their last hopes on what the new council can achieve if the deputies take their responsibilities seriously instead of arguing over trivial matters. There is a pressing need to form a government swiftly to address all the pressing crises.

In this context, political sources expressed concerns through "Anbaa" electronic news that the ongoing disagreement within the council regarding the formation of the government could lead to the continuation of the caretaker government, potentially resulting in a complete collapse. Concurrently, member of the Development and Liberation bloc, MP Fadi Almokaddam, indicated in an interview with Anbaa that there is no new development concerning the scheduling of the session to elect the Speaker and deputy, highlighting that communication and meetings are ongoing. "We are still within the 15-day timeframe set by the internal regulations, and we aim to resolve this matter as soon as possible, in order to move on to the second task of conducting consultations to appoint a Prime Minister and form a government as quickly as possible because the economic situation is extremely bad, with the dollar at 34,000, and it is not acceptable to leave things as they are."
