As usual, the Amal Movement is preparing to commemorate the 44th anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Musa al-Sadr and his companions, Sheikh Hassan Yacoub and journalist Abbas Badreddine, on the 31st of this month. A massive festival will take place at 5:30 PM in the Souk El-Taybeh square in Tyre, where the Speaker of the Parliament and leader of the movement, Nabih Berri, will deliver an important political speech addressing local and regional developments.
He will also discuss partisan issues, encouraging the movement's members and supporters of Imam al-Sadr to rally and unite amid the divisions that malicious entities are attempting to create between leadership and the base, fostering conflict among the ranks and undermining the success of the anniversary event by spreading rumors and lies about splits and resignations within the movement.
In this context, an official statement issued by the Executive Authority of the movement affirmed the following: all movement members are prohibited from using social media to discuss movement or political matters, and all expressions of the movement's positions or responses must go through the central media office and the electronic communication committee. Any deviation from this is deemed an organizational violation.
Regarding the content of the speech that President Berri will deliver, sources close to the Ain El-Tineh area told "Al-Markaziah" that it will address the escalating living crisis and the urgent need to address it in light of its dangerous implications during these challenging times the region is facing. He will emphasize the need to tackle this issue with all forthcoming commitments, from the urgent formation of a government to conducting presidential elections, which he will begin to call sessions for once the path to this crucial issue becomes clear, aiming for solidarity rather than division. Berri will reiterate the role of the Parliament in supporting reforms to meet international conditions to help Lebanon overcome its financial crisis.
He will conclude his speech by referencing the alliances forming in the region and the world, emphasizing that Lebanon must not remain a hostage to these alliances lest solutions come at its expense.
