The government discussions regarding the issue of Syrian displaced persons have made representatives of international organizations in Lebanon follow every detail with concern. They have informed Lebanese officials across all segments and levels of their rejection of the Lebanese state's approach to this issue and the denial of the return of any Syrian refugee to their country before comprehensive stability is achieved in Syria. UN representatives have confirmed their refusal to provide aid to the Lebanese state and fund financial incentives for teachers, the Ministry of Social Affairs, and non-governmental organizations, stating that all UN activities will be suspended unless the government approaches the issue differently. The UN and European countries are insisting on integrating the Syrian displaced persons into Lebanese society and abolishing all discriminatory measures against them, insisting that they enjoy the same rights as Lebanese citizens in employment. The UN is also insisting on integrating Lebanese and Syrian students into a unified schedule, abolishing the separate afternoon schedule for Syrian students and their separation from Lebanese students. Otherwise, UN organizations will be forced to withdraw support measures. Additionally, the Ministry of Education must cancel its previous circulars regarding Syrian students, which the Ministry has rejected, affirming its commitment to the afternoon schedule for Syrian students and refusing to integrate them with Lebanese students. This situation may lead to a significant conflict between the Ministry of Education and the supporting organizations, threatening to disrupt the start of the school year, which has been postponed to September 15. The UN's action, if implemented, would add significant problems for Lebanese people already facing difficulties in life. However, the UN and European ambassadors are adamant about fully integrating Syrians into Lebanese society in exchange for the continuation of support for hundreds of active organizations in the field of displaced persons and human rights, urging the government to take legal measures to enhance interaction between the displaced and the Lebanese community through social events. Europe cannot accommodate any Syrian refugees as priority is given to Ukrainian displaced persons, while hundreds of Syrians attempt daily to enter Europe by various means, adding an additional burden on European countries that they cannot bear.
