Sisi Praises Strong Relations with Jordan During His Meeting with Khasawneh

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met with Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher al-Khasawneh.

Jordan's "Al-Mamlakah" channel reported that Khasawneh conveyed a verbal message from King Abdullah II to President Sisi during their meeting in Cairo's Al-Ittihadiya Palace today. Both leaders emphasized the need to enhance the trilateral cooperation that emerged from the outcomes of the tripartite summit hosted by King Abdullah II in Amman last August, which included President Sisi and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi. They discussed the possibility of expanding this trilateral cooperation to include other Arab countries, serving the interests of Arab nations and their peoples.

Khasawneh highlighted the importance of the Egyptian president's visit to Amman on the 18th of last month and the necessity of building on that and the mutual visits between the King and Sisi as well as officials from both countries to promote further cooperation and integration.

For his part, President Sisi conveyed his regards to King Abdullah II and stressed the importance of maintaining coordination and consultation to enhance and foster the relationship between the two countries and address mutual interests.

Sisi praised the strong ties between Egypt and Jordan, noting the progress made in various fields and the commitment to deepen these relations to serve the interests of both nations and their peoples.

It is worth mentioning that in January, a military aircraft from Egypt flew to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, following directives from President Sisi, carrying a large shipment of medicines and medical supplies to support the Jordanian people in their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, according to an official statement from the Egyptian Armed Forces. The medical shipment was prepared in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population.
