Egyptian media personality Basma Wahba broke her silence in response to the criticisms she faced after sharing photos with her daughter during a shopping trip.
Wahba shared a video on her Instagram showing her at a medical clinic, revealing what goes on behind the scenes of her shopping outing. She explained that the happy appearance seen in the photos hides a different reality. Wahba wrote: "To the bullies who are upset that I’m out having fun with my daughter, here’s what goes on behind the scenes that the deaf and blind hearts and eyes don't see. Before our outing, I had a biopsy and an issue with my vocal cords and was warned about losing my voice due to stress and work fatigue. This is the same day you criticized for my spending time in leisure with my daughter, who had been in Dubai for three weeks and had COVID. I was forbidden to come near or see her as she was in complete isolation. What do the bullies think if it doesn't bother them that I take my daughter out to lift her spirits and mine?"
The Egyptian media figure continued: "I told you before, our life isn’t just the image you see. There is always another image behind it that you will never see. Just look at the biopsy that the nurse holds outside the chair; all this was in my mouth, again, an image behind an image. And this is our life, while you just sit there bullying and judging us."
Wahba had previously posted pictures with her daughter after a shopping trip, humorously captioning: "What’s wrong, my daughter, with Umr Afandi and Seidnawi," which led to criticism urging her not to showcase her daily life on social media.
