How Will the "Change" Deputies Participate in the Consultations?

How Will the

According to the schedule distributed by the presidency regarding the dates for mandatory parliamentary consultations, the "change" deputies will meet the president next Thursday individually and independently to cast their votes on who they will designate as the prime minister for the last government of the current term. This situation is not in their favor, as it indicates their inability to agree on a single name and a unified program. Therefore, it appears that they are in the process of early discussions to participate in the governmental obligation as a single bloc, meaning they want to unite to name their candidate for the premiership, as one of these deputies states.

He reveals to "Nidaa al-Watan" that communications among the 13 deputies have intensified in recent hours, and these discussions are expected to conclude by Sunday in order to agree on a candidate for the premiership. He indicates that several rules have been established regarding the designation, the foremost being that the designated individual should be an independent figure, outside the political system, should not be a deputy, in order to maintain the principle of separation of powers, and should adopt the economic and political proposals of the "change" deputies in broad terms.

He notes that more than one name has been proposed for discussion, and it is expected that an agreement will be reached on a name after consultations with the candidates whose names are circulating among the group, prior to the final agreement with the potential candidate and the announcement of the name, after establishing a joint program with them. He states that "the goal is not merely to designate someone, but rather to discuss the proposal with other parliamentary blocs and work on securing a majority for the potential candidate."

In a related context, Deputy Ibrahim Mneimneh indicated through "Al-Anbaa" electronic news that "as change forces," they have not yet agreed on a name that could be tasked with forming the government, noting that "matters are still under discussion." He disclosed through "Al-Anbaa" that they are in the process of announcing a specific name "who has a rescue project and will communicate with other forces to secure the necessary support for him," calling for "the formation of a government of independents, both as a president and ministers, capable of implementing reforms, possessing a transformative vision, and qualified to rescue the country with a comprehensive economic rescue plan."

Mneimneh denied the existence of "disunity among the change forces," asserting that there is rather distinction and diversity of ideas, as they are not a party operating under a single leadership; discussions always occur within a democratic framework, which is something the people are not used to. However, he concluded by stating that in the end, "we will make the appropriate decision."
