Syrian actor Qassem Malhou sent a message of discontent to his colleagues in the artistic community via his official Facebook page.
Malhou expressed his deep dissatisfaction with his colleagues' silence and their failure to congratulate him on the success of the series "Al-Amid." He stated, "The strange thing is that despite my work in the series 'Al-Amid,' which was shown on platforms and on Abu Dhabi TV, and the series achieved a very large viewership, I received only one call from the entire industry congratulating me on the excellence of the character I portrayed." He continued, noting that only his colleague, Syrian artist Mustafa Al-Khanni, congratulated him on the success of the work. He concluded his message with, "I'm talking about the congratulations from the artistic community without interests. Long live art, long live."
Many of his fans supported him, with comments such as, "You are a shining star with or without congratulations," "You are a great artist and do not need their acknowledgment," and "Why are you surprised? No one acknowledges others' achievements." His young colleague, Ahed Dib, quickly justified her stance, stating: "I didn't see the work; congratulations."
The series "Al-Amid" achieved high viewership, where Qassem Malhou portrayed a character named "Haytham," a gang leader involved in child trafficking. The series is written and directed by Bassam Al-Salka and features a star-studded cast, including Taim Hassan, Karyes Bashar, Rena Shmeis, Fadi Sabih, and Maen Abdel Haq, among many others.
It is worth mentioning that Qassem Malhou recently finished filming his scenes in the series "Haret Al-Qubba," written by Osama Kookesh and directed by Rasha Sharbatji. He also participated in the eleventh season of "Bab Al-Hara," written by Marwan Qawq and directed by Mohamed Zuhair Rajab, and he is currently involved in the second season of the series "Brokar," as revealed in his latest radio interview.
