Protests in London Following the Shooting of a Black Man by Police

Dozens of protesters gathered outside the Metropolitan Police headquarters in London to protest the shooting death of 24-year-old black rapper Chris Kaba by police officers. Investigators are looking into whether racism was a motive behind the shooting of Kaba on September 5 after a police chase in South London.

One officer has been suspended while the Independent Office for Police Conduct conducts a criminal investigation into the killing.

Kaba's family has called for a swift investigation, but investigators have stated that it may take about nine months.

Protester Sanai Dixon-Thomas urged for the release of video footage of the incident so that the family could view it, saying, "I believe we are all here hoping for that, and soon too."

In June, the police underwent special procedures following a series of high-profile scandals.
