During her visit to the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Tuesday, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock stated that Iranian rocket attacks across the Iraqi border are unacceptable and pose a threat to people's lives and regional stability.
In a press conference with her Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, she said, "The Iranian regime's rocket attacks not only reflect its reckless and brutal suppression of its own people but also jeopardize the lives of people and the stability of the entire region in its quest to cling to power. This is unacceptable and poses a danger to the entire region."
Baerbock, who is visiting Iraq alongside U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, emphasized that Germany, as the largest economy in Europe, aims to strengthen cooperation with Iraq. She added that discussions also include issues such as Iraq's security and stability, the situation of the Yazidis, and cooperation on climate change.
