Bakradounian: There Could Be a President in June

MP Hagop Bakradounian stated via "Lebanon Free" that "the Iranian-Saudi agreement is the result of continuous work and rapprochement, not only in terms of diplomatic relations but also in terms of communication and reducing the intensity of rhetoric." He noted that "China could take the initiative, and Saudi Arabia might accept, but what would be the position of the Americans? Was what happened coordinated between the Kingdom and the United States?"

Bakradounian emphasized that "in Lebanon, we should not bet on the disagreements in the region but rather on the agreements and whether there is a possibility to benefit from this rapprochement." He stated that "we cannot express an opinion regarding the nomination of former MP Sleiman Frangieh until he declares his candidacy himself and we discuss the matter with him; then the party will decide whether to support him or not." He concluded by saying, "We should all sit down to dialogue. If there is no candidate I am convinced of other than Sleiman Frangieh, then yes, I support him because the situation cannot continue this way, and there could be a president in June."
