The United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Joanna Frontska, briefed caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati on the report issued about Lebanon in the United Nations Security Council, emphasizing "the importance of Lebanon's stability and electing a president for the republic as soon as possible and implementing comprehensive reforms."
Frontska called from the government palace to "respect the electoral entitlements, including the municipal and optional elections," noting "the importance of the forces (UNIFIL) operating in the south and respecting international resolutions."
