Author E. Jean Carroll Accuses Trump of Rape

Former U.S. President Donald Trump is facing a new rape case filed by author E. Jean Carroll, who claims he raped her in the 1990s in a dressing room at a department store in Manhattan. The trial is set to begin on April 25. Trump's legal team wants to postpone the trial until at least May 23. Attorney Joe Tacopina justified the request by citing "the recent flood of harmful media coverage regarding Trump in Manhattan." He stated, "Conducting the trial in this case three weeks after these historical events will ensure that many potential jurors, if not most, will have the criminal allegations at the forefront of their minds when judging President Trump’s defense against Carroll’s claims."
