Loudrian Comments on His Lebanese Tour

Upon the conclusion of his exploratory visit to Lebanon, the French Special Envoy and former Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian stated that, at the request of the President of the Republic, who appointed him as his personal envoy for Lebanon, he visited Lebanon from June 21 to June 24. During this first visit, he aimed to listen, so he met with civil, religious, and military authorities, as well as representatives from all political parties represented in the Parliament. In his statement, he said, "I will submit a report on this mission to the President of the Republic upon my return to France. I will return to Beirut soon, as time is not on Lebanon's side." He emphasized that he will work to "facilitate a constructive and inclusive dialogue among the Lebanese to reach a solution that is both consensual and effective to overcome the institutional vacuum and implement the necessary reforms for Lebanon’s sustainable recovery, in consultation with Lebanon’s key partner countries."
