Renewed Clashes in Khartoum and Omdurman

Warplanes belonging to the Sudanese army flew over Khartoum, while ground anti-aircraft defenses from the Rapid Support Forces engaged them, amid thick smoke rising in the central city area. Today, the southeastern region of Khartoum witnessed explosions and sporadic gunfire coinciding with the flight of a warplane. The Sudanese government has rejected the deployment of any foreign troops in the country, considering "any force that spreads in Sudan as an aggressor." The government criticized statements made by the Kenyan president and the Ethiopian prime minister during the "IGAD" quadripartite summit, where they called for the formation of a new leadership, discussed a political vacuum, and proposed a no-fly zone over Sudan. The Sudanese government pointed out that "these statements constitute a violation of the state's sovereignty."
