European Experts Propose Judicial Reforms in Lebanon

European Union experts presented an evaluation report today, Wednesday, outlining a series of reforms related to the work of the Lebanese judiciary and summarizing recommendations made to the Lebanese judicial authorities. The delegation explained to Minister of Justice Henry Khoury the practical translation of these recommendations into the reality of the judiciary in Lebanon, emphasizing the ongoing monitoring of the implementation of feasible recommendations included in the European logistical report. The report includes various reforms concerning the organization of the judiciary, anti-corruption measures, judicial independence, management of judicial files, legal procedures that slow down the resolution of judicial cases, and the logistical and office resources needed by the sector.
