Axios reported, citing informed sources, that a group of senior advisors to U.S. President Joe Biden secretly visited Saudi Arabia last week to discuss normalizing relations between the kingdom and Israel. The website noted on Wednesday that the purpose of the advisors' visit to Saudi Arabia was to continue negotiations for an agreement between Israel and Saudi Arabia. Informed sources confirmed that the Biden administration hopes to achieve what is being referred to as a "major deal" before the current president begins focusing his efforts on his 2024 reelection campaign. Among the officials who visited Riyadh was Amos Hochstein, the White House Coordinator for Middle East Policies and Biden's senior advisor on energy and infrastructure. According to Axios, the visit took place last Thursday and lasted only a few hours, and the White House has not issued any official statements regarding this visit.
