Multiple explosions were reported on Wednesday in Qeshm Island and the city of Sirik in Hormozgan Province, southern Iran, amid reports of coastal areas being targeted by projectiles, according to Iranian media.
Sources indicated that several sites in Sirik were hit by projectiles, and explosions occurred along the coastal regions of Sirik and Qeshm, as well as in coastal areas under the jurisdiction of Minab.
The Office of the Governor of Hormozgan reported that the sounds of explosions heard in Qeshm originated from the sea, without providing further details.
These events unfold amidst escalating tensions between Washington and Tehran in the Strait of Hormuz, following the U.S. military's recent declaration of targeting several Iranian oil tankers.
