Britain announced that Russia-backed forces have made tactical advancements in the last three days towards the center of the strategic town of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, likely penetrating villages south of the town. The British defense ministry stated in an intelligence update that the private military group known as Wagner Group "will likely remain" heavily involved in the fighting in Bakhmut. The ministry noted that Russia has continued its offensive operations in central Donbas, achieving "very slow" progress.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories in Ukraine announced that over 600 areas have been liberated from Russian occupation in the past month, including 75 in the strategic Kherson region. The ministry indicated that approximately 502 residential areas have been liberated in the northeastern Kharkiv region, where Ukrainian forces advanced deeper into Russian lines last month. Additionally, it reported the liberation of 43 areas in the Donetsk region and 7 in Luhansk.
