Sevilla Claims Seventh UEFA Europa League Title

Sevilla FC defeated AS Roma 4-1 in penalties on Wednesday to win the UEFA Europa League title for the seventh time, extending their record. This victory also marks the first defeat for coach José Mourinho in six European finals. Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou saved penalties from Gianluca Mancini and Roger Ibanez, while the Spanish team successfully converted their first four penalties. The match ended in a 1-1 draw after two extra time periods, leading to the penalty shootout. Paulo Dybala gave the Italian side the lead with a counterattack goal in the 35th minute, but Sevilla dominated the match afterwards, equalizing with an own goal from Mancini in the 55th minute. With this victory, Sevilla will compete in the UEFA Champions League next season, despite finishing the La Liga season outside the top four.
