Minister of Public Works and Transport in the caretaker government, Ali Hamieh, welcomed the Ambassador of the Philippines, Raymond Balatbat, in his office at the ministry. They discussed the general situation and developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as the procedures that can activate the civil aviation agreement between Lebanon and the Philippines, signed in 1968. Hamieh confirmed that "the measures and actions taken by the ministry regarding its affiliated facilities, whether at the airport or the ports, are part of the preparations being made to cooperate with all countries on issues concerning the ministry, among which the Philippines is considered a friendly country to Lebanon." He noted that "this applies to all normal and emergency or extraordinary stages and circumstances that may arise in Lebanon and the region."
