Prioritizing the Readiness of the Health Sector

The Minister of Health in the caretaker government, Firas Al-Abyad, affirmed after his meeting with the President of the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development, Bahia Hariri, that "everyone knows that the main concern of the Ministry of Health today is to enhance the readiness of the health sector, especially given the current circumstances in Lebanon, in light of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the border areas in southern Lebanon." He added, "We care about the health readiness of the regions, and in Sidon there is a unique experience regarding the health sector and the coordination among various parties in this sector. The meeting was an opportunity to get insights from Hariri on all matters related to readiness and to learn about the ongoing activities, especially the support from the Hariri Foundation to enhance this readiness, as well as to keep her informed about the Ministry of Health's plans, including the Turkish hospital and our efforts to open it soon."
