Jordan Calls for Immediate Cessation of Attacks on Gaza

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi met today, Thursday, with Brett McGurk, the U.S. National Security Council Coordinator for the Middle East and North Africa, who is currently visiting Jordan. During the meeting, both sides discussed efforts to achieve an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and the catastrophic implications of the ongoing war in the region. The Jordanian minister emphasized the necessity of an immediate halt to the attacks on Gaza and the urgent, adequate, and sustainable delivery of humanitarian aid. He stressed that any future approach to dealing with Gaza must acknowledge that "Gaza is part of the occupied Palestinian territory, within the context of a comprehensive plan to implement a two-state solution based on recognized frameworks."
