The United States Does Not Seek War with the Houthis

White House spokesperson John Kirby stated today, Tuesday, that "the United States does not seek war with the Yemeni Houthi movement." He said in a press interview, "We are not looking to expand the conflict; the Houthis have a choice and still have time to make the right decision, which is to stop these reckless attacks." In another context, Kirby noted that "U.S. envoy to the Middle East Brett McGurk visited Doha in the past few days to discuss a potential agreement for the release of hostages held by the Palestinian Islamic resistance movement 'Hamas' in Gaza." He explained that "McGurk is engaged in very serious and intense discussions with the Qataris regarding another hostage agreement," adding, "We hope for progress soon."
