As the countdown begins for the Summer Olympic Games set to take place in the summer of 2024 in Paris, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the organizing committee for the Olympics are organizing a relay race around the world (116 countries) in cooperation with French embassies worldwide. The relay race in Lebanon, which will take place on Friday, March 17, at the Pine Palace in Beirut, will be under the patronage and participation of the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo. This race will highlight the importance of sports and Olympic values to Lebanese youth, featuring participation from directors of Francophone schools, teachers, and students alongside professional athletes, including those who have competed in previous Olympic and Paralympic Games. The race was originally scheduled for last Tuesday, but adverse weather conditions lead to the new date of Friday, March 17. Below is the complete schedule for the morning of Friday:
- 8:15-9:15 AM - Arrival and reception of race participants.
- 9:30 AM - Speech by the French Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo.
- 9:30 AM - Warm-up and photo opportunities.
- 10:00 AM - Start of the relay race.
- 10:45 AM - End of the race.
- 11:00 AM - Distribution of medals to participants.
