The family of young Ali Abdullah blocked the road in Rawcheh in protest against the "negligence in search operations" for their son after he went missing on the Rawcheh beach yesterday, Saturday. The two young men, Muhammad Fouani and Ali Hussein Abdullah, were drowning yesterday near the Rawcheh rock in an area known as "Al-Dalia" in Beirut.
Ali's family urged the authorities to work on rescuing their son, who still remains missing, reiterating that no one moved to search for him when he was lost. Meanwhile, Samir Yzbak, head of the marine rescue unit, confirmed that "the civil defense teams have not stopped the search operation since yesterday afternoon," indicating that "the divers in the water have been facing very dangerous currents since six in the morning." Yzbak noted that "the area where young Ali drowned has been secured while awaiting the arrival of the naval commandos to join the rescue teams at the Rawcheh beach."
It is worth mentioning that Muhammad was rescued by a boat that happened to pass by before the rescue teams started searching for Ali.
