Statement from the University Professors' Division in the

The University Professors' Division in the "Lebanese Forces" clarified in a statement today, Friday, that it "did not nominate anyone for membership in the executive board of the Association of Professors at the Lebanese University." They emphasized that they "will be vigilant in overseeing the association's performance and will exercise oversight on the executive board's activities through the presence of representatives from the Division in the Council of Delegates, based on our commitment to the interests of university professors and the preservation of all their rights and achievements, while also striving diligently to accompany the solutions proposed by the delegates so that university professors can continue their sacred educational mission."

They added, "This will ensure the continuity of the public educational institution, namely the Lebanese University, which is considered the available educational refuge for Lebanese citizens deprived of their economic capabilities by this authority, who no longer have the option of multiple choices in higher education."

The statement concluded: "We will work with all our trade union strength through our presence in the Council of Delegates, and also with the 'Strong Republic' bloc to provide any political support needed by the University Professors' Division in the Lebanese Forces to enable them to defend the Lebanese university professor wherever they may be across the 10,452 square kilometers."
