5 Injured in Kyiv Due to Largest Attack in Ukraine's History

The Ukrainian capital experienced what the country's air forces described as the largest drone attack during the war on Saturday, resulting in five injuries. The attack utilized Iranian-made Shahed suicide drones, beginning to strike various areas of Kyiv in the early hours of Saturday, with additional strikes occurring at sunrise. Kyiv's Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that "the attack resulted in injuries to five people, including an 11-year-old girl, and caused damage to buildings in various parts of the city." The Ukrainian Air Force initially reported the downing of 71 out of 75 drones but later revised the number of downed drones to 74. A spokesperson for the Air Force stated on television that 66 of those drones were shot down in the airspace over Kyiv and the surrounding area. The Ukrainian Energy Ministry reported that "nearly 200 buildings in the capital, including 77 residential buildings, lost electricity due to the attack."
