Funeral of Iranian Advisor in Syria, Reza Zarei

On Sunday, according to the "Iran in Arabic" website, the funeral of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps advisor in Syria, "Reza Zarei," took place in the city of Bandar Abbas. Following the funeral in Bandar Abbas, his body will be transported to the village of Kermon to be laid to rest in his hometown. The Iranian news agency reported that Zarei was killed days ago in an Israeli airstrike on the coastal city of Banias in western Syria. The agency stated that Zarei, who also held the position of one of the guards of the First Marine Corps, was killed along with two members of the Lebanese Hezbollah. Pro-regime Syrian media indicated that Israeli airstrikes targeted a building in the Batraiya area around Banias in the countryside of Tartus province, marking the first such attack in three years.
