A source from the Spanish Supreme Court indicated today, Saturday, that "the court has ordered the suspension of the messaging application Telegram in the country, after media companies complained that it allows users to upload their content without permission." The use of Telegram in Spain will be temporarily suspended starting Monday, following a request from media companies including Atresmedia, E.G.I.D.E.A, Mediaset, and Telefonica. Judge Santiago Pedraz approved the ban on "Telegram" services in Spain during the investigation into the allegations. The court source stated that "mobile service providers will be responsible for blocking Telegram services." Telegram has not yet responded to a request for comment. The spokesperson for the Supreme Court did not respond to a request for comment.
