Harris Urges Israel to Establish Humanitarian Plan Before Any Action in Rafah

The White House announced that U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris urged Israel to take further steps to increase the flow of aid to the Gaza Strip and called for a "credible" humanitarian plan before any military operation in Rafah, during a meeting with Israeli war cabinet member Benny Gantz on Monday. The White House statement added, "The Vice President and Minister Gantz discussed the situation in Rafah and the need for a credible and implementable humanitarian plan before considering any significant military operation there due to the risks faced by civilians." The statement clarified, "Harris urged Israel to take additional actions in cooperation with the United States and international partners to increase the flow of humanitarian aid to Gaza and ensure its safe distribution to those in need."
