Abdollahian: "Ansar Allah" Does Not Receive Orders from Tehran

Abdollahian:

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian informed Washington that it is "a party in the war on Gaza and cannot ask anyone to avoid escalating it," revealing that "America asked us to work on stopping resistance operations in the region." He pointed out that "the operations of Hezbollah, Ansar Allah, and resistance factions in Iraq and Syria aim to halt the aggression against Gaza," affirming that "if Washington wants a safe area for energy transport in the Red Sea, it must stop its support for Israel." Abdollahian considered the coalition in the Red Sea a strategic mistake that will not solve the problems in the region, emphasizing that "we do not have proxies in the region, and the resistance factions decide independently based on the national interests of their countries." He noted that "Washington asked us to advise the Yemeni Ansar Allah to stop their operations against Israel and U.S. interests," stating: "We informed Washington that Ansar Allah in Yemen does not receive orders from Tehran regarding Gaza and decides based on their own interests." Additionally, the semi-official news agency Mehr reported that "Iran denied U.S. accusations of being involved in planning attacks by the Yemeni Houthis on commercial ships in the Red Sea." This denial came from Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Baqeri Kani after the White House stated that Tehran is "heavily involved" in planning operations and that the intelligence information it has is essential for aiding the Houthi group in targeting ships. Baqeri Kani told Mehr that "the resistance (Houthis) possesses the tools of its strength and acts based on its own decisions and capabilities."
