On Tuesday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced the suspension of former Wimbledon and French Open champion Simona Halep from four years due to doping to nine months, representing a significant victory for the former world number one Romanian player. The Court of Arbitration for Sport stated in a statement, "The committee of the Court of Arbitration for Sport unanimously decided that the four-year period of ineligibility imposed by the independent tribunal under the International Tennis Federation will be reduced to nine (9) months starting from October 7, 2022, which concluded on July 6, 2023."
