Title: Seloum Calls for Rational Use of Medicine and Prevention of Stockpiling or Hoarding

The head of the Lebanese Pharmacists Association, Joe Seloum, addressed pharmacists with a call, stating that "in every crisis or disaster, whether it is economic, epidemic, or war-related, the essential role of pharmacists emerges, proving their national, ethical, professional, and humanitarian commitment through all hardships." He said, "Today, as in the past, we rely greatly on you, appreciating your sacrifices across all sectors and regions, especially in border areas and places of displacement. We also rely on your awareness, insight, and professional ethics in rationalizing the use of medicine, ensuring that each patient receives what they need to prevent stockpiling and later spoilage or diversion by smuggling networks to the black market, thereby denying patients in need." He urged pharmacists to refrain from any form of stockpiling for commercial purposes, expressing confidence that they are far from such practices. He added, "We pray to God to spare Lebanon and its beloved people from the evil of aggression and the criminal Zionist machine, which they can no longer endure after suffering consecutive crises, and to inspire officials on how to fulfill their national duties to protect the people of Lebanon."
