Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani expressed his insistence on proceeding with ministerial amendments, noting that "everyone is convinced of the importance of approving the budget." In a television interview, he stated, "I found, upon taking office, files that were stalled due to ignorance, bad intentions, corruption, and a lack of vision, and we are compelled to work quickly to meet the needs and aspirations of Iraqis." He affirmed that "all Cabinet decisions are implemented, and there is a team following up on the execution; we have nothing but the constitution to organize the political process despite its flaws," considering that "the challenge before me is gaining the trust of the people, and we do not make vague commitments." Regarding the evaluation of ministers, Sudani mentioned, "We talk to them clearly and frankly regarding evaluating their work, and the constitution grants the Prime Minister the authority to dismiss a failing minister." Concerning the " theft of the century," he confirmed that "400 billion dinars of the embezzled amounts have been recovered," pointing out that "the government is obligated to repay the amount of 3.7 trillion dinars in stolen tax deposits to companies and contractors."
