The Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Abu Ghait, welcomed Armenia's announcement of its official recognition of the State of Palestine, emphasizing that it is "a courageous decision that reflects this friendly country's position on the right side of history." Abu Ghait stated, "The expanding recognition of the Palestinian state reflects a growing conviction within the international community regarding the impossibility of continuing the occupation and the necessity of implementing the two-state solution, and it represents an important step towards realizing the Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967." He urged all countries that have not yet taken this step to "make the morally right and legally and politically correct decision to recognize the State of Palestine as soon as possible, as this represents a manifestation of the realization of the two-state solution and a real contribution to achieving peace and ending the occupation."
