According to the Hindu newspaper, it is scheduled for the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine, Emine Dzhaparova, to visit India this coming Monday, where she will seek humanitarian aid and equipment to repair energy infrastructure that has been damaged during the Russian invasion.
The article states that Dzhaparova will be the first high-ranking Ukrainian government official to visit India since the Russian invasion, and she will encourage New Delhi to send a "strong message for peace" to Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is set to visit India in July for a Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit and will return in September for a G20 summit.
The newspaper reported, citing diplomatic sources, that "Ukraine will request more humanitarian aid from India, including medicines, medical equipment, and energy infrastructure repair equipment that was damaged during the war, and both sides are expected to discuss the delivery of such support."
It added that the final arrangements for Dzhaparova's visit are still under discussion. During her talks with the Indian government, Dzhaparova is expected to present the peace formula proposed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which consists of ten points, and call on India to add its "important global voice" to achieve consensus on this formula.
The report mentioned that Ukraine is eager to receive an invitation to participate in G20 meetings and to invite Zelensky to speak to the group's leaders during the summit.
Dzhaparova is also expected to invite Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit Kyiv. India, which is currently chairing the G20, has refrained from blaming its ally Russia for the invasion of Ukraine and has sought a diplomatic solution while increasing its purchases of Russian oil.
