The Historical Jeddah Program announces the launch of the "Art Town" events, taking place from December 7 to March 9 under the slogan "Looking Forward." The initiative aims to revive the historical significance of Jeddah Al-Balad through the organization by Athar Foundation, with participation from the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, Zawiya 97, Sawt Al-Balad, and local partners including institutions, companies, and commercial shops. This collaboration seeks to enhance the local economy of Al-Balad and position it as a cultural, economic, and tourist destination.
"Art Town" aims to enrich the cultural landscape of the Kingdom through the universal language of art, offering unique sensory experiences. It also seeks to increase awareness and encourage visitors to explore Historical Jeddah by showcasing various forms of art, including four art exhibitions, musical programs, and various theatrical performances, in addition to a selection of distinctive local restaurants and educational visits to enhance students' artistic knowledge.
Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al-Issa, the general supervisor of the Historical Jeddah Program, stated that this ambitious launch of "Art Town" aims to enhance cultural interaction in Historical Jeddah, transforming the area into a cultural destination and a major creative hub, attracting businesses and cultural projects, all in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Hamza Sairfi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Athar Foundation, explained that "Art Town" lies at the core of the foundation's objectives to enhance the role of art in society, working with partners to create sustainable programs that support artists and contribute to the artistic journey of Saudi Arabia.
