Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated, "The drone attack that Kyiv attempted to target Moscow with, as well as other Russian regions, once again confirms the necessity to continue the special operation," noting that "the Russian president does not plan to address the people regarding what happened today." Russian air defenses repelled a drone attack near the capital Moscow this Tuesday morning.
Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin announced this Tuesday morning that "drones targeted residential buildings in the west and southwest of Moscow, with no injuries reported." He urged citizens to "not disseminate unverified information and to rely only on official sources," stating that "all emergency services are on the scene and there are no serious injuries resulting from the drone attack."
The Russian Ministry of Defense declared that "Kyiv attempted to attack Moscow with 8 drones," confirming that air defenses managed to destroy all of them. The Ministry stated in a report that "the Kyiv regime attempted this morning to carry out a terrorist attack with drones on facilities in the city of Moscow. Eight drones participated in the attack, and all drones were destroyed."
They added, "Three of the drones were countered by electronic defenses, lost control, and deviated from their designated targets, while five drones were shot down by the Pantsir-S missile defense system in the Moscow area." Meanwhile, Ukrainian presidential advisor Mykhailo Podolyak told the "Breakfast Show" on YouTube: "Regarding the attacks, of course, we are happy to see them, and we expect an increase in the number of attacks. However, we have no direct involvement in this matter."
For its part, the emergency service in Moscow reported that "drones targeted residential buildings in Moscow: one of them on 98 Prosyuznaya Street, and the building was evacuated for the safety of its residents. Another drone caused damage to the facade of another building on Atlasova Street in New Moscow, with no injuries reported."
Moscow Region Governor Andrey Vorobyov announced that "Russian air defense shot down several drones in the area," and urged local residents to remain calm. Russian media reported that "authorities evacuated some residents from a building in southern Moscow." Many channels mentioned that "between 4 to 10 drones were launched early today."
